What a trouper: Kate’s scouting turn – as Miss Moneypenny

-

THE new Bond film may be missing a trick — the Duchess of Cambridge once turned up to a James Bondthemed fancy dress do as Miss Moneypenny.

Scout leader Malcolm Rogers, who was reunited with Kate on her visit to Anglesey this week, recalls she performed her star turn when she did some voluntary work in 2012.

‘I was contacted by the Scouting HQ because the Palace had been in touch to say she would like to volunteer while she and the Duke were living in Anglesey,’ he says.

‘It was a very private affair, not part of her official engagements. She would call in when her duties allowed. It was one of the regular craft nights and this one had a James Bond theme.

‘ She was dressed as Miss Moneypenny in a business suit with glasses. The children were dressed as characters such as Goldfinger, Jaws and Oddjob.

‘The local paper quoted me as saying she looked attractive, but I didn’t say that. I said she looked elegant.

‘We didn’t take any photos, though, we were asked not to by her team and we respected that.’
