EXTREME

-

tiredness at the wheel can lead to ‘micro- sleeps’ lasting from a fraction of a second up to 30 seconds, says Richard Gladman, head of driving standards at the road safety charity, IAM RoadSmart.

At 70 mph, a car will travel 31 metres per second ‘giving plenty of time to cause a serious crash during a micro-sleep,’ he warns.
