Unless they win by more than four goals against Southampton they will become just the second side in a 20-team Premier League season to finish with a GD of worse than -50 (after Derby in 2007-08). It could get worse. If they lose, their points tally of 15 will be the thirdlowest in the history of the top flight. Only Derby with 11 points in 2007-08 and Stoke with 13 in 1889-90 have racked up fewer, and Stoke’s came in a 22-game season.
