OLD comrades have been reunited after 67 years.

Iain Rowland, 73, of Devon was looking for the one missing member of the 43rd Entry Boy Entrants who arrived at RAF St Athan in May 1961 to train as motor transport mechanics.

When they completed their training in December 1962, the 19 lads were posted around the country. They had their first reunion two years ago and only John Flood was missing.

A friend of John’s read the column and now he is back in touch with his old pals. They hope to celebrate their 60th anniversary with a full house.

Now another friend from Iain’s RAF days has got in contact.

‘I knew Iain at RAF Wittering in the Eighties,’ writes John Restorick. ‘ I was in station workshops and he was in MT support flight for one of the RAF regiment squadrons there.

‘I was also in the same 43rd Entry Boy Entrants at RAF St Athan — while he was doing his training as a mechanic, I was being trained as a welder.’

They have since been reminiscing about the old days.
