Does moisturiser make scent last longer?
onE of the most common complaints about fragrance is that it doesn’t last long enough, especially in warm weather as higher body temperatures increase the rate at which the scent diffuses.
‘If you want perfume to last longer, apply moisturiser first,’ says Rebecca Richmond, a perfume expert at The Perfume Shop. ‘It creates a base for your fragrance. Moisturisers stay on the surface of your skin, so the perfume sticks to the moisturiser and has greater staying power.’
Warmer evenings call for light scents. Try YSL Mon Paris Floral (£54 for 30ml) or Jimmy Choo Blossom Special Edition Eau de Parfum, left (£43 for 60 ml, both at theperfumeshop.com).
