Four ovens? I’ve got FIVE!

-

Jocelyn BRIGGS, 57, lives in Hertfordshire with her husband, Kirit, 55, who runs his own business. They have two grown-up children. I’VE always liked to cook but I suppose some people might find my five ovens — which cost me a couple of thousand pounds — excessive.

We moved into the house 23 years ago and never really loved the kitchen or the oven. It was a single white fitted one and it got terribly smoke damaged over the years.

I stumbled upon my new kitchen three years ago when I popped into an interiors shop to pick up a swatch of curtain material. By the time I left, I’d ordered a gorgeous contemporary kitchen — at the centre of which are my five ovens. It’s really two double-ovens with microwave combi grill and oven in the middle.

I can still remember walking into the finished kitchen for the first time and seeing the ovens. One of the great bonuses is that we can now separate meat and vegetables.

Kirit is vegan so we’ve designated the two left ovens as vegan and any meat I cook goes in the right-hand side. I spend most of my time in here. I wouldn’t swop it for the world.
