SouTH AfRICA will appeal against the court ruling that is threatening to end Caster Semenya’s athletics career. The country’s sports ministry said that a formal challenge is forthcoming from ASA on the grounds that two of the three judges who heard the case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport were ‘conflicted’, facts were ignored and the IAAf had ‘unfettered latitude’ in efforts to introduce testosterone regulations. ANDY ANSON was confirmed as the new chief executive of the British Olympic Association yesterday but it could be six months before he can begin his new role. An announcement by Goals Soccer Centres plc, where Anson was CEO, stated: ‘Andy has committed to remain for the next six months to assist in resolving the company’s accounting and VAT issues’.
