HOLEBAS FREE TO PLAY CUP FINAL AS FA OVERTURN RED
WATFORD defender Jose Holebas will be available for the FA Cup final after his red card against West Ham was overturned. In Sunday’s 4-1 defeat, Holebas put a hand on the shoulder of Michail Antonio and referee Chris Kavanagh felt he had denied the forward a clear goalscoring opportunity. MailOnline revealed yesterday morning that Watford were confident of having the red card rescinded, believing there was minimal contact and that Antonio exaggerated his fall, and the FA later confirmed: ‘An Independent Regulatory Commission has upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal regarding Jose Holebas.’ The one-game ban would have kept Holebas out of the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday.
