Euro stars want to face Holland

LIVERPOOL and Tottenham’s English players will make it clear to national team manager Gareth Southgate that they want to be considered for the UEFA Nations League semi-final against Holland. The Premier League clubs will meet in the Champions League final in Madrid on June 1, five days before the game against the Dutch. The earliest players from the two clubs could train with Southgate’s squad is June 3. As many as 10 players could be involved in the European final, leaving Southgate facing the possibility of having to name an under-strength team for the game against Ronald Koeman’s men on June 6. Those who play in the final will make themselves available despite a tight turnaround. Southgate has encouraged a battle for places and players know places will be in jeopardy if they miss the match.
