Spurs eye quick deal for Fulham teen Sessegnon

- By SAMI MOKBEL

TOTTENHAM are aiming to dispel any doubts Mauricio Pochettino has about their ambition with an early swoop for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon. Pochettino says he wants signings as soon as possible to integrate them into his squad for next season. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has a reputation for striking deals at the end of transfer windows, but the club have changed tack, with a deal for Sessegnon already in the offing. Fulham value Sessegnon, 18, at £40m, but Tottenham want to pay closer to £25m. Spurs are in pole position, but Paris Saint-Germain retain an interest. Spurs have also made enquiries for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, who spent this season on loan at Everton. Meanwhile, Jan Vertonghen is set to hand Tottenham a boost with the Belgian confident he will overcome a foot injury to face Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1. Spurs are optimistic Harry Kane and Harry Winks will also be available.
