against Real Madrid. The lyrics include lines about Liverpool fans ‘crying in the stands and battered in the streets’ plus ‘Ramos injured Salah, Victims of it all! Sterling won the double and the Scousers won f*** all!’ before they chant ‘Allez, Allez, Allez!’ repeatedly.

In the video (inset), a line has been altered to ‘Kompany injured Salah’ — a reference to the clash between the sides at the Etihad Stadium in January, when City’s captain was booked for a late tackle on the Egypt international as he looked to race through on goal.

The Hillsborough Survivors Association tweeted Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore and the FA, saying: ‘Taking this from fans is one thing but from @ManCity players is a disgrace.’

City would not comment when contacted yesterday. Liverpool offered no comment, either.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have raised concerns about the integrity of the UEFA investigation into their financial dealings after reports emerged that they are facing a ban from the Champions League.

The English champions do appear to be facing heavy sanctions for alleged breaches of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules. The New York Times revealed on Monday that members of the investigatory chamber of UEFA’s financial control body will push for a oneseason ban from European football’s elite competition, probably in 2020-21. Investigators have spent months reviewing evidence first detailed in a series of leaks and reported by the German publication Der Spiegel.

But City responded on Tuesday with a strongly-worded statement that essentially accused European football’s governing body of leaking details of the investigation.

Their statement, given to MailOnline, said: ‘ Manchester City FC is fully cooperating in good faith with the ongoing investigation. ‘In doing so the club is reliant on both the CFCB IC’s (Club Financial Control Body Investigatory Chamber) independence and commitment to due process and on UEFA’s commitment of the 7th of March that it “will make no further comment on the matter while the investigation is ongoing”.

‘The New York Times report citing “people familiar with the case” is therefore extremely concerning.

‘The implications are that either Manchester City’s goodd faith in the CFCB IC is misplacedd or the CFCB IC process is being misrepresented byby individuals intent on damaging the club’ss reputation and itss commercial interests. Or both.

‘ Manchester City’s published accounts are full and complete and a matter of legal andd regulatory record.

‘The accusation of financial anare irregularities are entirely false.’

A VIDeO has emerged of manchester City’s flight home from Brighton, with the players mocking liverpool’s failure to win the Premier league. Pep Guardiola’s triumphant squad flew back to manchester after winning 4-1 at the Amex Stadium to seal the Premier league title and a 36-second clip was published on Twitter yesterday by the account @yourmCFC of the players reprising a chant which was popular with City fans all season. liverpool supporters reacted with fury as the video went viral. It is unclear which players were singing, but the Premier league trophy is clearly visible as one man leads the chant, which is known as in reference to liverpool losing last season’s Champions league final
