Workers on Capita board

-

CAPITA appointed two workers to its main board of directors as investors vented their frustration over fat cat pay.

The outsourcer is the first FTSE 250-listed company for 30 years to give seats at the boardroom table to ordinary staff.

Chartered accountant Lyndsay Browne and civil engineer Joseph Murphy beat 400 others for the roles. It came as more than 27pc of votes at the 2018 annual meeting opposed the pay report.

Chief executive Jonathan Lewis was paid more than £2m in his first full year, including a £1.2m bonus.
