THIS drama tackles meaty social issues with a light touch. Cary Grant is the man fleeing his trial when he is accused of causing the death of the foreman at the mill where he works. Ronald Colman and Jean Arthur are the lawyer and teacher coming to his aid.
Blue Peter, 5.30pm, CBBC
RICHIE DRISS (pictured) impressed Blue Peter bosses by coming face to fang with a Burmese python during his audition, and today, he becomes the long-running children’s show’s 38th presenter. His arrival comes hot on the heels of Henry, who recently became the show’s tenth dog.
Leeds Rhinos v Castleford Tigers, 7pm, Sky Arena
THE Tigers will be out for revenge after the Rhinos beat them 21-20 in March. A 44-yard drop goal from hooker Brad Dwyer in golden point extra time won Leeds the game.
The Big Bang Theory, 8pm, E4
LEONARD has a nice surprise in tonight’s new episode when his usually chilly mother (The Good Fight’s Christine Baranski) comes to visit and actually treats him like a human being. Then, he has a nasty surprise — when he realises what she actually wants.
Deep State, 9pm, Fox
THE plot is clearer in part two as Miller’s efforts to tidy up the mess in Mali bring him closer to Harry and Leyla. Those two are on the same page this week, which gives their storyline a bit more pace, while the flashbacks get a dose of menace from the arrival of a softly spoken freedom fighter (Alexander Siddig).
My Dad Wrote A Porno, 10pm, Sky Atlantic
THE British podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno has been downloaded more than 150 million times, and this giggly one-off comedy special brings it to the stage. Jamie Morton reads pages from his father’s unerotic ‘erotic novel’, and Alice Levine is on hand to provide amused reactions.

THIS series could have been cringeworthy but it’s quite sweet. Five mums attempt to live as 21-year-olds, and try their hands at dating, social media and slang under the instruction of their daughters (including Taylor-Mai, pictured with mum Rachel). They learn a lot on the way.
Madam Secretary, 10pm, Sky Witness
IT’S been coming for a while, but in the season five finale, Secretary of State McCord (Tea Leoni) finally announces her run for the Presidency. Tonight, Madam Secretary is, as it has often been, a plea for a return to a classier era of U.S. politics — an understandable desire. There will be a sixth series. SCI-FI FILM

THIS sci-fi has an interesting premise. A young cryptographer (Kyle Gallner) deciphers a message from a satellite and fears that aliens have a sinister plan.
