Baxter: Keep relegation

- WILL KELLEHER

SCRAPPING relegation from the Gallagher Premiership would not sit well ‘morally’ with league leaders Exeter Chiefs, according to their boss Rob Baxter. While the RFU and Premiership bosses debate whether to expand the league to 13 teams from the 2020-21 season, Baxter has called for the one up, one down system to stay. ‘Our preference will always be that some form of promotion or relegation is retained,’ he said. ‘It’s only right and morally correct for us to take that view as a club who worked their way up through a couple of leagues to fight for their place in the Premiership.’
