Big screen eyes up Salesman

-

A FEW producers have asked me whether it would be possible to turn Marianne Elliott’s blockbuster production of Arthur Miller’s play Death Of A Salesman, left, into a feature film.

The scorching hot drama, directed by Elliott and Miranda Cromwell at the Young Vic (where tickets have become like gold dust), stars Wendell Pierce, Sharon D. Clarke, Arinzé Kene and Martins Imhangbe, and opened to some of the best reviews of the year. A movie may or may not happen, but a West End transfer is definitely on the cards.

Every theatre owner in town wants to offer it a home, though Ms Clarke will go on to do Blues In The Night at the Kiln Theatre from July 18 to September 7. I gather she and her Salesman colleagues would all be free by November to move with the Miller.
