Nice piece of needlework for Branson’s 60th birthday

WHEN you marry someone who changed his surname by deed poll to Rocknroll, you can expect a wacky time.

So Oscar-winner Kate Winslet won’t have been too surprised by the unusual present her husband, the former Ned Abel Smith, bought for his aunt Vanessa Branson to celebrate her 60th.

‘Oh, Lordy, what have Ned and Kate given me for my upcoming birthday?’ writes Vanessa, sister of Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson, next to this photograph of her apparently having a tattoo inked onto her arm.

She adds: ‘Moments of madness.’
