Esure hires new chief

SHEILAS’ Wheels’ owner has lured a new boss from an Australian rival.

Esure has appointed David McMillan, who was chief operating officer at Sydney-based QBE.

The British insurer has been without a permanent chief executive for more than year since Stuart Vann left in January 2018.

Private equity company Bain Capital took the insurance business off the stock market in a £1.2bn deal last August.

Formerly at Aviva, McMillan, 52, starts this summer after two years with QBE.
