BRITAIN’S Tom Daley and Matty Lee won their first internatio­nal gold medal in the 10m synchronis­ed platform event at the London leg of the FINA Diving World Series yesterday. in only their sixth event as a partnershi­p, Daley and Lee broke the British points record in beating Chinese pair hao Yang and Junjie Lian. SUPER LEAGUE leaders St Helens came from behind to claim a lastgasp 32-30 win against Salford. Two tries from Lachlan Coote and one from Tommy Makinson put the hosts 16-0 up inside 12 minutes. But Salford responded through Gil Dudson, Niall Evalds and Derrell Olpherts to take an 18-16 lead at the break. Evalds and Robert Lui went over at the start of the second half to extend the visitors’ lead, but Coote completed his hat-trick and Makinson got his second of the night to give the hosts hope. In the final minute, James Bentley touched down to level the scores and Coote kicked the extras to seal a dramatic 32-30 win. Huddersfie­ld beat Hull KR 30-22 in the night’s other game.
