THE
long-running uncertainty surrounding Olympic boxing will finally end on Wednesday when the IOC will decide what to do with the AIBA — amateur boxing’s world body. A lastditch meeting will be held between a delegation from AIBA and the IOC today. It has amused some that the AIBA group is understood to include their head of compliance, Terry Smith, who was chairman of the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association in 2013 when it was found by an independent audit to be ‘unfit for purpose’.
