Ford to extend Leicester stay
MIKE FORD, the coach brought in to save Leicester Tigers’ season in March, looks set to stay at the club. The 53-year-old came in to assist head coach Geordan Murphy as Leicester faced relegation. But now the Tigers have preserved their Gallagher Premiership status, Ford is ready to extend his contract. The former England coach had signed until the end of the season but is likely to be offered a fresh deal. Tigers are still keen to recruit a high-profile coach after the World Cup in November, with Australia’s Michael Cheika thought to be a target. Murphy’s future role is unclear.
