FA AND PREMIER LEAGUE VOW TO WORK WITH STERLING IN FIGHT AGAINST RACISM
THE FA confirmed yesterday that they would welcome talks on tackling racism with Raheem Sterling next month. The Manchester City forward suffered alleged racist abuse by Chelsea supporters in December and is now playing a pivotal role in trying to eradicate discrimination. Sterling said this week he hoped to meet FA and Premier League officials for talks. Now both bodies have told
Sportsmail they want to engage. The FA said: ‘We welcome Raheem’s thoughtful comments regarding the fight against racism and our work in this important area is ongoing. We look forward to picking up more formally with Raheem once his England commitments are over.’ The Premier League said: ‘Raheem took part in our No Room For Racism campaign and we would welcome the opportunity to talk to him. Developing our work in this area is a priority.’
