-

SOMERSET needed just over two hours of the third day to wrap up a 49-run victory over Warwickshire at Taunton and consolidate their position at the top of the Championship table. Sam Hain and Oliver HannonDalby frustrated the hosts with a last-wicket stand of 49 before Warwickshire were bowled out for 189, Lewis Gregory claiming four for 48. Hampshire look sure to stay hot on their heels after centuries from Ajinkya Rahane and Sam Northeast put them in control against Notts at Newclose, Isle of Wight. The hosts declared on 367 for five with a 438-run lead then reduced Notts to 42 for two. In the Second Division, Lancashire overtook Worcestershire at the top with a six-wicket victory at Old Trafford. Skipper Dane Vilas led them home with an unbeaten 60 after Lancs had stumbled to 32 for four.
