Award for food chief

CO-OP Food boss Jo Whitfield has been awarded the UK’s most prestigious accolade for businesswomen.

Whitfield, pictured, was handed the Veuve Clicquot prize for boosting sales at the Coop’s retail business and for her work to make stores more sustainable. Whitfield, 50, who is married with four children, said: ‘I work very hard from 7am to 7pm. But I firmly believe that once I get home, that is family time.’
