UNDER 23 BOSS STEPHENSON IS AXED BY BORO

MIDDLESBROUGH’S academy staff and players have reacted with shock after Under 23s boss Paul Stephenson was told he has lost his job. Former Newcastle and Millwall winger Stephenson was only appointed two years ago and is said to be disappointed. One of the theories is that Jonathan Woodgate could take the role should he miss out on the first-team job vacated by Tony Pulis last week. Boro have also spoken to ex-Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic.
