AUSTIN UP FOR WOLVES HAT-TRICK

-

WARRINGTON playmaker Blake Austin is hoping to maintain his unbeaten record against Wigan, but is bracing himself for a tough challenge at the 13th Dacia Magic Weekend at Anfield. Austin played a key role in both Wolves’ wins over Wigan this year as he sets the pace in the race for the Steve Prescott Man of Steel in his first season in Super League. He said: ‘The one thing I’ve learned is that form goes out of the window. Wigan are always up for a match against us. I can’t wait to take them on in a bigger stadium.’ Wigan already had a long injury list before hooker Sam Powell took a knock and winger Liam Marshall damaged a shoulder in the defeat by Catalans Dragons. Coach Adrian Lam said: ‘It’s backs against the wall. We need to respond as a group.’ In the opening game, Wakefield will give a debut to Kelepi Tanginoa against Catalans. Hull prop Josh Bowden, back from a cruciate ligament injury, is set to make his first appearance for 12 months against Huddersfield. TV: LIVE on Sky Sports Action, 7pm.
