TAKE THE TABLET
ARE the days of seat- back screens numbered? Eithad Airways is introducing Economy seats on some short-haul aircraft that don’t provide them — instead passengers will need to wirelessly stream free entertainment to their own devices. The airline claims this will allow for more knee room, and also bring down fuel costs due to reduced weight. (etihad.com)
BARGAIN USA
AMERICAN Airlines currently has some tempting low fares on its flights from Heathrow to the United States. Deals include Boston from £271 return, New York from £299 return and Los Angeles from £341 return. (aa.com/lowfares)
BELGIAN TREAT
SCOTTISH regional airline Loganair will start flying from East Midlands to Brussels from September 2 with one-way fares from just £66.99 including a 20kg luggage allowance.

CLUB CLASS
BRITISH Airways has unveiled a vast and improved Club lounge at New York’s JFK Airport. Premium passengers can make use of new work stations, take a seat in a brasserie for pre-flight dining, watch TV in a state-of-the-art entertainment room and relax in an Elemis Spa. (ba.com)
FREE DRINK
IT’S annoying just how hard it is to find free drinking water in some airports — so let’s raise a glass to Manchester, where passengers can now refill bottles at 33 outlets across its three terminals.

WINTER WARMER
EASYJET is doubling the number of direct flights from Gatwick to Aqaba in Jordan, which start on October 29. Introduced last year, the Red Sea port has proved popular thanks to its mix of winter sunshine and cultural thrills; the World Heritage ruins of Petra are a two-hour drive away. (easyjet.com).
