Thames Water boss to leave

-

THAMES Water’s boss has stepped down weeks before its five-year plan is due to be signed off by regulators.

Steve Robertson, who has been chief executive of the UK’s biggest water company since September 2016, will stay until the end of June while a successor is found.

In January, water watchdog Ofwat released a damning initial critique of Thames Water’s 20202025 business plan because it pointed towards major bill hikes and suggested that the company would not do enough to reduce leaks. A spokesman said the decision for 61-year-old Robertson to leave was mutual.
