Hunt bankrolled by Remainers
JEREMY Hunt’s leadership campaign has been bankrolled by donors who have given money to anti-Brexit campaigns or parties, it has emerged.
The Foreign Secretary has received more than £100,000 for his campaign. And almost £8 ,000 has come from people who have donated to campaigns opposed to Brexit.
According to his Electoral Commission declarations, he received ten donations in May 019 from nine backers. Among them is Andrew Law, a leading hedge fund manager, who also gave £ 00,000 to the In campaign. In total, Mr Hunt’s backers have given £ 0,000 to Remain groups, £10,965 to the Lib Dems and £ ,406. 5 to a Remain-supporting MP.
Many of the Foreign Secretary’s publicly declared MP supporters have either voted for a second referendum, openly suggested they could support one or abstained on votes proposing to introduce one.
