Hunt bankrolled by Re­main­ers

JEREMY Hunt’s lead­er­ship cam­paign has been bankrolled by donors who have given money to anti-Brexit cam­paigns or par­ties, it has emerged.

The For­eign Sec­re­tary has re­ceived more than £100,000 for his cam­paign. And al­most £8 ,000 has come from people who have do­nated to cam­paigns op­posed to Brexit.

Ac­cord­ing to his Elec­toral Com­mis­sion dec­la­ra­tions, he re­ceived ten dona­tions in May 019 from nine back­ers. Among them is An­drew Law, a lead­ing hedge fund man­ager, who also gave £ 00,000 to the In cam­paign. In to­tal, Mr Hunt’s back­ers have given £ 0,000 to Re­main groups, £10,965 to the Lib Dems and £ ,406. 5 to a Re­main-sup­port­ing MP.

Many of the For­eign Sec­re­tary’s pub­licly de­clared MP sup­port­ers have ei­ther voted for a sec­ond ref­er­en­dum, openly sug­gested they could sup­port one or ab­stained on votes propos­ing to in­tro­duce one.
