on June 21 about possible BA summer strikes said that, for safety reasons, pilots are only permitted to work ‘just over 17 hours a week – with the clock starting as soon as they arrive for duty at the airport.’ In fact, pilots are allowed an average of 17.5 hours of flight time a week, which starts when an aircraft moves from its stand; pilots’ maximum working time is 13 hours per day, up to 60 hours in one week.
