HAPPY AND GLORIOUS
Rampant England smash Aussies... and will rule world if they beat Kiwis
committed to showing the final on ‘free-to-air’ television.
Sky bought the rights from Star Sports and were under no contractual obligation to open up their coverage for free.
However, Sky UK and Ireland chief executive Stephen van Rooye confirmed the decision when he said before the semi-final: ‘Our aim has always been to celebrate what could be a “once in a generation” moment of a home team in a big final on home soil.
‘We will make the match available to everyone so the whole country can be part of a rare and special big sporting moment.’
