news presenter Jon Snow is writing a book about injustice in the wake of the Grenfell fire that killed 72 people.
‘It’s taking time. It’s bloody difficult to have a day job and write a book,’ he tells me. ‘It’s about inequality in all sorts of ways — in this country between north and south, between rural and urban, and urban and urban, between men and women, between black and white, Asian.
‘It’s rooted in Grenfell because I feel that what happened to them was a very poignant example of inequality. If that tower had been reconfigured and had millionaires in it, then there’s no way the consequence would not be utterly megalithic.’
