James Graham, whose previous subjects include Rupert Murdoch and TV dramas about Brexit and the Coalition, has hit upon an unlikely subject for his next drama. ‘I am actually trying to write a play about John Major and the Maastricht rebels,’ he says of the former PM and his famous battles with the ‘ b*******’ in his Cabinet. ‘I find him fascinating. He’s due a revival . . . if I can do for John Redwood what Lin-Manuel Miranda did for Hamilton in the West End, I’ll be very pleased.’ Good luck with that!
