POLICE last night arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of murdering an expectant mother whose baby boy later died in hospital.

Kelly-Mary Fauvrelle, 26, was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed in her home in Croydon, south London, last month. Paramedics could not save her but delivered her baby at the scene. Relatives named him Riley. He died in hospital four days later.

Miss Fauvrelle, a Royal Mail worker, was attacked in her bedroom on June 29 while her mother, brother and sister were all in the house. They heard her screams, but the killer escaped without being seen.

CCTV footage showed a man in a hoodie walking towards Miss Fauvrelle’s home just before the 3.15am attack. He was seen running away ten minutes later.

A 29- year- old man was arrested last month on suspicion of murder and was released on bail. Another man, aged 37, was also arrested on the same day and was released under investigation.

Scotland Yard said the man arrested yesterday had been taken to a central London police station and inquiries were continuing.
