Look out, the hammerheads are coming!
A HAMMERHEAD shark has been seen on the edge of UK waters for the first time.
The shark was spotted by marine scientists in the Celtic Sea about 100 miles south-west of Ireland. It comes a week after an expert said shark species such as the great white and hammerheads could become regular visitors to British waters by 2050 due to rising sea temperatures.
Dr Simon Boxall, of the Southampton Oceanography Institute, said yesterday: ‘Hammerheads are not particularly interested in humans and attacks are rare.’
