June’s £6m will (with £5k for a Fab party!)
ABSOLUTELY Fabulous star June Whitfield left £6.2million in her will, with instructions that £5,000 be spent on a party to celebrate her life.
The much-loved actress died in December aged 93 following an illustrious eightdecade career in comedy.
Dame June’s husband Tim Aitchison died in 2001 after a 45-year marriage, and the majority of her estate has gone to their daughter Suzy Aitchison, 59, who is also an actress.
Her £1million home in Wimbledon, south-west London, was left to Suzy’s husband Terry Quinn.
She also made bequests to the Actors’ Benevolent Fund and other charities and left £5,000 for close friends to throw a ‘celebration party’ in her honour.
Dame June appeared in more than 1,300 TV and radio shows. She starred in four Carry On films, sitcoms Terry And June and Last Of The Summer Wine, and The Dick Emery Show. In the 1990s she played the mother of Jennifer Saunders’ character Edina Monsoon in Ab Fab and reprised the role for the 2016 film.
