LOSING LIZ HURLEY IS THE BEST THING THAT’S HAPPENED TO ME

-

START WEIGHT: 22st 11lb WEIGHT NOW: 12st 5lb TOTAL LOST: 10st 6lb — weight of LIZ HURLEY CARLEANNE O’DONOGHUE, 27, is a content manager from Finchley, North london. She says:

I WAS always tall, but at some point I stopped growing upwards and started growing outwards. By university, my weight crept up thanks to not exercising and eating all the wrong foods.

With my confidence destroyed, I loathed going out and feeling like ‘the fat friend’ of the group.

I tried to accept this was how life was, but inside I was crying.

When I lost my nan in 2016, I was so miserable I found myself stepping out into a busy road. I didn’t want anything to happen to me, but didn’t much

care if it did. That scared me and I rang my GP, who referred me for counselling. I had to make changes to my life.

Mum had lost weight with Slimming World, so I gave it a go. I was shocked to find I weighed over 20st. The plan has re-educated how I think about food and nutrition.

In my first week, I lost 2lb and within three weeks I’d lost half a stone. The moral support from the group was invaluable. When I lost 8st, I joked I’d lost a Kardashian.

Now it’s more than 10st — at least a Liz Hurley! It feels strange seeing the weight that I’ve lost standing beside me, as a whole person.

Life has changed in so many ways. My confidence has soared. I’ve sought — and got — pay rises and promotions. Last year, I started a relationship with a lovely man. I’ve never met Liz Hurley, but it feels amazing to have lost her.
