Woman found on fire in garden

DETECTIVES are investigating the death of a woman who died after being found on fire in the back garden of a house.

Police and fire services were called to an address in Chadwell Heath, near Romford, east London, shortly before midnight on Thursday.

Once there, they found the woman on fire before she was declared dead at the scene. An investigation into the tragedy was launched yesterday. A Scotland Yard spokesman said the woman who died was aged in her 30s, and that they are trying to reach her next of kin.

They added: ‘The death is currently being treated as unexplained.’

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
