. . . AND FOUND

-

OLD neighbours have been reunited. Jane Cole, of Leicester, was looking for the Davies family — Stephen and Carolyn and their daughters Ceri and Bethan — who lived in Gwaelod-y-garth, Cardiff, in the Nineties. ‘My husband, Mike, and I left the area in 1998 and, after the Davies family also moved house, we lost touch. Searching for a family with the surname Davies in Wales has proved difficult! ‘When our daughter, Isobel, married her husband, Nick, in July 1991 at Taffs Well Methodist Church, the Davies family loaned us their crockery, fridge, garden and even Carolyn’s hooped underskirt from her own wedding dress. ‘When we lived in Cardiff, Mike taught design at Corpus Christi Catholic High School and I was a hospital secretary. We are now aged 75 and retired.’ Our researcher, David Kilby, has traced the Davies family, who still live in Cardiff. ‘We have spent an hour on the phone reminiscing and catching up,’ says Jane. ‘Steve and Carolyn have promised to come to stay for a few days.’
