Amerisur Resources

OIL and gas firm Amerisur Resources is on a high after a takeover offer.

The South America-focused group has been approached with a non-binding bid for the whole company, and there is also interest in some of its individual assets.

It comes amid increased appetite for firms that have a presence in Colombia, where Amerisur operates. Investors didn’t mind the secrecy, given no information on the bidder has been given. Shares rose 36.5pc, or 4.42p, to 16.52p.
