Whyte eyes Wilder bout

- DANIEL MATTHEWS

DILLIAN WHYTE turned down £4million to challenge Anthony Joshua for his unified heavyweight titles earlier this year, believing he was worth more than the ‘derisory’ offer. Tonight, Whyte rolls the dice once more, knowing victory over Colombian oscar Rivas at the o2 will finally make him the mandatory challenger for Deontay Wilder’s WBC title. ‘The violence is what excites me, I’m ready for it,’ Whyte said. ‘I don’t overlook anyone. I train hard for everyone. Why would I suddenly overlook Rivas? The man is dangerous.’ Rivas replied: ‘Whyte is a really strong guy, but I’m going to be the last man standing.’
