HISTORY MYSTERY SOLVED AFTER RORY IS LOST IN NO-MAN’S LAND

RORY McILROY’S frustration at finding a tiny out-of-bounds area many didn’t know existed on hole one will be not be eased when he discovers why it’s there. Historically, the Portrush club did not own that tiny triangle of land between the first and 18th fairways (above), so it could not be used for golf. It owns it now, but the out-of-bounds rule remains.
