Bankrupt Cash sells jewel in his property crown for £26million

-

He was once hailed as one of Britain’s most successful property tycoons with a fortune of £500 million.

But that proved to be a gilded fiction when Kevin Cash was declared bankrupt last July, owing no less than £40 million.

Now I can reveal that Birminghamborn Cash, 55, has been parted from North aston Hall, the sumptuous Oxfordshire mansion where, in his heyday, he and his fourth wife, Carla, pictured — once voted ‘sexiest woman in south africa’ by lads’ mag FHM — spent £50,000-a-month on groceries and ‘housekeeping’.

The Grade II- listed house became the most expensive country property when it was put on the market for £28 million last year. It is reached by a mile-long drive and set in 194 acres including a swimming pool and tennis court.

‘It’s gone,’ I’m told. ‘sold not much more than a week ago.’

savills, the estate agent handling the sale, say that they are not authorised to comment on the new owner of the Jacobethanstyle mansion.

But a source tells me: ‘ It went for £26 million and has been bought by a young tech guy.’

Cash’s creditors are hoping to retrieve the proceeds but it may be a long process. ‘The registered owner of the Hall was a Virgin Island company called Covergold Limited,’ explains Ian Baker of City litigation specialists PGB Gitlin Baker, who acts for one of Cash’s creditors, businessman Darius Khakshouri. ‘It’s to be hoped that the bankruptcy trustees will unpick Cash’s complex web of offshore property interests,’ adds Baker. Cash declines to comment. ‘ I can’t give any details at all,’ says the receptionist at his London office. ‘ My hands are tied.’
