WHYTE SLAMS HIS CRITICS

- By JEFF POWELL

DILLIAN WHYTE has finally broken his silence about his alleged positive drugs test. The London heavyweight, who faces a career-ending eight-year suspension if his B-sample tests positive for up to three banned substances, simply tweeted: ‘I am so disappointed with the rubbish that has been said about me over the last few days. ‘I have lawyers dealing with it and I have been told that I can’t talk about it for good legal reasons. ‘I was cleared to fight and won that fight fair and square. Thanks for the support.’ Whyte climbed off the canvas at London’s O2 last Saturday to gain a unanimous decision against Colombian Oscar Rivas. That victory came with a minor WBC belt and now he is the mandatory challenger to that organisation’s world champion Deontay Wilder, a status which he will presumably forfeit if found guilty of steroid abuse.
