Carjack duo OK to face Lyon

- By SAMI MOKBEL

MESUT OZIL and Sead Kolasinac are expected to be available for Arsenal’s friendly against Lyon tomorrow despite Thursday’s chilling carjacking attempt at knifepoint. The pair were on a day off when they were targeted by two knife-wielding thugs in north London, 24 hours after returning from the club’s tour of the USA. Club officials checked that the players were unharmed as soon as they heard about the incident and spoke to them again yesterday before an afternoon training session. Manager Unai Emery was due to make his own checks on them at the club’s London Colney training HQ. Both players insisted they were ready to report back to training yesterday afternoon as the club prepare for the game against the French side at the Emirates Stadium. Emery will have the final say on whether they can take part but Ozil and Kolasinac don’t want the episode to impact on their pre-season preparations. Kolasinac took to social media yesterday to ease concerns over the attack with a tweet that read: ‘Think we’re fine,’ accompanied by a photo of him and Ozil in Arsenal training kit, smiling. Arsenal officials say their security measures are under constant review. As of last night no arrests had been made as police continue with their enquires.
