Respect goes both ways

THE Duchess of sussex is developing an unnecessary reputation for challenging royal conventions, which have stood the test of time for a reason.

At the weekend, it was revealed the sussexes’ neighbours – most likely without her knowledge – had been told not to strike up conversations with them, ask to see their baby son or pat their dog.

Yet when it suits the duchess, she wants people to share her admiration for ‘ brilliant female change-makers’ in the pages of Vogue magazine.

A good relationship with the public is based on mutual respect and understanding – not just on her own terms.
