Warrington book a date with Saints
WARRINGTON and St Helens will meet in the Challenge Cup final for the first time on August 24 — when both will look to overcome their demons in the competition. The Wire held off a resilient Hull in their semi-final at the University of Bolton Stadium, and St Helens stuttered past Championship team Halifax. ‘It feels like we’ve just been invited to the wedding again,’ said Warrington head coach Steve Price. ‘This time we want to be brides, not bridesmaids.’ Price’s team have lost two finals and three semi-finals since their last victory in 2012. Super League leaders St Helens return to Wembley for the first time since 2008. They fell at the semi-final stage last year to eventual winners Catalans Dragons. Head coach Justin Holbrook said: ‘I just knew it was going to be a tough day. Halifax were always going to make it hard for us.’
l WIGAN have signed forward George Burgess, 27, from South Sydney Rabbitohs on a three-year deal, starting next season.
