CRYSTAL PALACE will turn down a £52million offer from everton for Wilfried zaha.

As revealed by Sportsmail last week, everton have joined the race to land the ivory Coast winger, but their opening bid will be declined.

they will now consider whether to improve upon their offer for the 26-year-old, who is valued at £80m by Palace.

Having sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester united in a deal worth up to £60m, Palace are not under pressure to sell zaha.

And given his huge importance to manager roy Hodgson’s plans, the club will demand more for their star player than they did for Wan-Bissaka.

everton are prepared to shatter their own transfer record to sign zaha, but they need to act quickly. After seeing his side lose 1-0 to sevilla on saturday, everton manager Marco silva aired his concerns about the need to bring in quality reinforcements for the new season.

everton have scored only two goals during pre-season matches and a player of zaha’s quality would add pace and dynamism to their attack.

He has also attracted interest from Arsenal this summer after he admitted he was looking for a new challenge.

However, the Gunners have turned their focus towards a £72m deal for lille forward Nicolas Pepe, improving everton’s chances of signing zaha.
