Former pin-up girl Linda strikes age-defying pose ... and praises Lorraine
WITH her flat stomach and toned physique, it is hard to believe that it is more than 40 years since Linda Lusardi found fame as a pin-up girl.
The 60-year-old still looks fabulous in the sparkly silver bikini she wore at the height of her fame in 1988.
And yesterday she praised TV host Lorraine Kelly, 59, for showing off her beach body in an Instagram post this week during a holiday in India.
Miss Lusardi, who recreated her bikini pose for Best magazine, told Christine Lampard, Miss Kelly’s standin on ITV’s Lorraine: ‘She’s giving me a run for my money. Isn’t that amazing?
‘You’ve only got one body, you’re only here once, enjoy it. Stop worrying what other people think all the time.’
The former glamour model, who began her career in 1976 and who has never had cosmetic surgery, said she was surprised to be approached by Best and had to search for the bikini.
‘I was quite shocked that anyone was interested,’ she said. ‘They sent me a few shots and said, “Can you recreate any of these?” I thought, “I wonder if I’ve still got that [bikini]?” I went up into the loft and opened a bag… it looked like a hanky. But I got in it.’
The mother of two, who is married to actor Sam Kane, 50, revealed how she keeps in shape. ‘I use a smaller dinner plate, drink lots of water and try not to eat for 12 hours a day,’ she said.
‘Don’t have breakfast until 11am. If you want biscuits, go for a banana. It’s hard to eat 1,000 calories worth of bananas but it’s easy with biscuits.’
