Reward savers, too

-

How generous the banks are by allowing overdrafts and finance to over- spenders. They very kindly charge them 39 per cent plus interest (Mail) for lending them £1,000.

But who’s money are they lending? It is the savers’, the same savers whom the banks very kindly pay 2 per cent to on their savings (which, of course, can be taxed).

If you are a good saver with a healthy bank balance, banks make millions using your money, while charging you.

while the greedy institutions are hiking the rates they charge borrowers, they should spare a thought for the savers whose money allows them to do all this and have fat-cat salaries for their own bosses.

So, banks, while you are scratching your heads over how to make even more from the big spenders and borrowers, think about giving some to your benefactors.
