LYNCH’S EXTRADITION BATTLE
AUTONOMY founder Mike Lynch is facing an extradition battle with American prosecutors as he fights fraud allegations.
He has been charged with 17 counts of wire and securities fraud and, if found guilty, could face 25 years in jail.
The US embassy in London has filed an extradition request with the Home Office but no hearing has yet been scheduled. British businessmen who have been extradited to face US charges in the past include Morgan Crucible boss Ian Norris, who was jailed for 18 months for obstructing justice in 2010, and the ‘Natwest Three’ – Giles Darby, David Bermingham and Gary Mulgrew – who were jailed for fraud in 2008.
